For nearly three years, Lime has created new transportation options around the world. In more than 120 cities, we’ve been fortunate to build a loyal customer community and deep partnerships with policy makers and local organizations. From rides to work, to running errands, to joyrides with friends, Lime riders in every city are the reason we’ve become the world’s leading micromobility company.
Part of realizing our vision to transform urban mobility is achieving financial independence; that is why we have shifted our primary focus to profitability. While the vast majority of our 120+ markets have adopted micromobility transportation solutions quickly and are profitable, there are select communities throughout the world where micromobility has evolved more slowly. For this reason, we have made the difficult decision to close 12 markets across the globe at this time. They include Atlanta, Phoenix, San Diego and San Antonio in the United States; Linz, Austria in Europe; and Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Lima, Puerto Vallarta, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Latin America.
These market closures have an effect not just on riders, but on our whole Lime community. To our full-time and temporary employees and our Juicers, many of whom have been with us every step of the way – thank you. We know that this decision impacts your lives and families and we’re grateful for your role in helping us make Lime what it is today.
At Lime, we remain focused on our long term goal: to play an instrumental role in reimagining and changing the way we live in and move around cities across the globe. We are immensely grateful for the partnerships we’ve enjoyed with each one of these cities and the continued support from our riders, and we remain hopeful we can reintroduce Lime back into these communities when the time is right.
